Olive Juice Music Radio Mix Volume #4
This is the fourth episode of our weekly antifolk mix. Listen on your headphones while you jog around the block! ☼
Curators for this episode:
“American Anymen” is an antifolk band from New York City. We use DIY music to undermine the class-based art that is generated through the superstructure of the USA.
“Dina Levy” has been involved in the NYC antifolk movement for over 10 years, as a founding member of the band Prewar Yardsale, performing vocals, flute, keyboard and found percussive instruments. She is both a supporter and organizer of many antifolk events.
“Stefanie Koscher” is a transmedial artist and musician currently based in Vienna, Austria (formally known as Steffko). These days she’s playing grunge’n roll music with her band Koscher. In NYC, she has been performing with bands such as Steffko and the Facebookbraggerz, Ching Ching, Huggabroomstik, the Johns and Pieface.
“Phoebe Blue” is a antifolk songwriter who trys her best to rep her hood in Staten Island. She curates events and mixes different breeds of art, burroughs, people and media. She’s got two ears and one mouth and she uses them to the best of her ability.
“Major Matt Mason USA” is a singer/songwriter, sound engineer, and founding member of Olive Juice Music. He plays in the bands Schwervon!, Kansas State Flower, and Major Matt Mason USA.

“Hot Chocolate” by Rhyannon Joy
Blocks of chocolate in brown tubs tons of tubs tons of tubs of blocks of chocolate. Room temperature. White chocolate blocks in brown tubs tons of tubs of blocks of white chocolate. Still room temperature. White chocolate does not contain any chocolate. White chocolate is not chocolate, it’s a chocolate derivative because it is not made of cocoa solids but cocoa butter, butter, and milk solids.
Does that mean that I can feed that little old lady, with the shorty spiky magenta cut, that little old lady in the black turtleneck, in the black cotton leggings, black leggings that are not pants, that little old lady’s blonde pug with the peppered grey whiskers and strained strut, can I feed her peppered pug blocks of white chocolate tons of tubs of blocks of white chocolate? Not room temperature. What if it is hot chocolate?
Some like it hot.
White chocolate was a modern invention like easy bake ovens or legos. You can put your hands in there but don’t bake your hands in there. You can eat those easy bake bread bits with your hands but don’t really eat those easy bake bread bits with your hands. You can build a boat with those legos but will that boat float?
White chocolate is neither white nor chocolate. The yellow milk sugar fat was invented by Nestle in the 1930s. Forty-seven years later, the U.S. issued a boycott against Nestle’s aggressive campaign for breast milk substitutes, the same Nestle that controls over seventy of the world’s bottled water brands. That’s water but that’s not water that’s plastic-packed blue-dyed fluoride but by all means, wash it down you’re going to need it after those easy bake bread bits served on lego floatless boat-less yellow milk sugar hot fat.
